Flags is an educational game for children. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app does and does not collect, how data is stored, and how some external services may be used.
Flags does not require account registration and does not collect email addresses, phone numbers, or precise location. If you choose to use the world leaderboard, Google Play Games Services processes your Play Games gamer identity (gamertag, avatar and a pseudonymous player ID) and game score to provide that feature. If your Play Games profile is public, your gamertag, avatar, score and leaderboard position may be visible to other players in the world leaderboard.
The app stores some data locally on the device to provide its features, including:
This local leaderboard includes the games of every Play Games profile used on the device, so that players sharing a device can see each other's results. It is stored only on the device and is never sent to our servers. The player ID is used only on the device to associate a saved score with the correct Play Games profile. There is no Flags account system and no Flags backend. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data, removes all of this local data.
The core gameplay works offline. Country data, shapes, globe assets, audio, and flag images used by the game are packaged locally with the app, and you can play without signing in to Google Play Games. Internet access is used only for the optional Google Play Games world leaderboard, which needs an internet connection and a Play Games sign-in.
The app may open an external PayPal page only if the user chooses to make a voluntary donation.
We do not operate our own analytics, advertising, or leaderboard backend for this app.
The optional world leaderboard is provided by Google Play Games Services. Signing in is never required to play, and the player chooses to sign in from the world leaderboard screen. Once signed in, the app submits only the final score and the selected leaderboard category. When the player opens or returns to the world leaderboard, Flags may submit the best score already stored locally for that same Play Games profile. This allows a player who later changes the profile from private to public to publish the best result already earned on the device without replaying it. Google Play Games ignores a submitted score when it is worse than the score already stored online.
Google associates the submitted score with the player's Play Games profile and displays the gamertag, avatar, score and position according to the player's privacy and profile-visibility settings. Only players who share their Play Games game activity publicly appear in the public world leaderboard. A private profile can remain signed in and keep its local scores without appearing publicly. Flags can open the official Play Games profile page, but only the player can choose to make the profile public; Flags cannot read or change that setting.
The Play Games player ID, gamer name and avatar are kept locally only to associate and label local games and synchronize that profile's best score. They are never sent to a Flags server. Scores and Play Games profile information used by the world leaderboard are sent directly to Google Play Games Services. Google manages this data under its own privacy policy.
Flags is designed for children, but it is intended to be used with parental supervision when appropriate. The app does not knowingly collect personal data from children. A parent or guardian should decide whether a child may use Google Play Games and participate in a public leaderboard.
